The founder of one of the country’s top residential law firms, Allan Polunsky advises banks, mortgage companies, credit unions and other lenders on document preparation and review for residential mortgage transactions, commercial real estate matters and government regulation related to residential lending.
A veteran of the residential mortgage industry for more than 45 years, Allan was one of the first attorneys in Texas to earn dual board certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both residential and commercial real estate law. He has served as general counsel for numerous mortgage broker and banker associations, along with builder associations, including the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers. His professional recognitions include being named to the annual Texas Monthly Super Lawyers List since it was first published in 2002.
Allan is also the only person in Texas history to serve as chairman of the Texas Public Safety Commission (overseeing the Texas Department of Public Safety) and the Texas Board of Criminal Justice (overseeing the state’s corrections system), the top two criminal justice agencies in the state.
